Catch up week! Let's be real. You have a lot going on right now. If your focus has been 100% on getting these assignments done for music, then I appreciate it, but we might need to talk about priorities. You've got your other packets to get done and in case nobody has noticed, the world is a little crazy right now. Use this week to catch up and breathe a little bit. If you are totally done with all of these, text or email me with something that you think would be fun to do that's music related!

Students are encouraged to create an instrument using materials they have at home. Students can create either a woodwind, brass, percussion, or string instrument. To create sound on a woodwind instrument, air gets split by either a reed or part of the instrument. For brass, sound is created by "buzzing" your lips. For percussion, sound is created by striking the instrument. Strings create sound through friction on the strings, either by plucking or a bow.

Try to have an idea of the instrument you want to create by next Thursday!

For now, General Music students are encouraged to create a parody of a song they know. A parody is where the words of a familiar song are changed. Most of the time this is done in a way that is funny, but not all of the time. A famous musician who is known for his parodies is Weird Al Yankovic.
Try to take a song that you know, and change the words to reflect what is going on in the world today. How has the world changed? How has your life changed?

Your student email is what you used to log into school computers, so some variation of your name with @student.acpsd.net. Your password is the same. I am sending emails regularly to your school email, so please make sure you check them.

We have our Discord server and will have a weekly zoom call. I will email out the passwords to both Discord and Zoom.Â
